Event Name: RPAC Auction & Dinner
How frequently do you hold this event? Annually
Describe the event: We get a grant from NAR to cover the venue and cost of meals. We charge an attendance fee that will count toward their RPAC investments. Members bring items to be auctioned so there is little expense there. When we began in 1990, or so, we had only 10 items at a luncheon. This has grown to be one of the biggest events that we hold each year.
Event Length: 3 Hours
Describe the marketing of the event: Emails, phone calls, website, Facebook, etc.
What grants are used for the event (Allocation funds, NAR)? NAR’s RPAC Fundraising Grant
Number of Attendees: 100
Tell us what you learned from this experience and what others considering hosting this event should be aware of: Just make it fun. Make sure you have great auctioneers who can draw the crowd in and “draw the money from their pockets.” Have good items. We usually have several sets of Titans and Vols tickets, several cabin rentals, a Gatlinburg weekend getaway as well as home decor, gas cards, Lowe’s cards, Amazon gift cards (these always go higher than value.)
Event Name: RPAC Wine Social
How frequently do you hold this event?

Event Length: 1.5 – 2 hours
Describe the marketing of the event: A lot of social media posts to our members plus emails, flyers, and personal phone calls to previous investors.
What grants are used for the event (Allocation funds, NAR)? No grants, funds from state allocation.
Number of Attendees: 28
Tell us what you learned from this experience and what others considering hosting this event should be aware of: Make sure the event has Wi-Fi connection that works so you can use your phone to take investments. Try to pick a night where the venue is usually closed so you can have the full space to yourselves. Any other pertinent information you would like to share: Dress down, relax, and enjoy a night out with your RPAC peers.
