Over the weekend of January 24-25, Winter Storm Fern made its way through Tennessee, bringing snow, ice and frigid cold temperatures to the state. Significant damage and devastation were recorded, including downed power lines and trees, impassable icy roads and structural damage, paralyzing towns and cities and leaving hundreds of thousands without power for several days.

We have secured assistance from the Realtors® Relief Foundation (RRF), a nonprofit arm of the National Association of Realtors® (NAR). RRF has provided housing-related assistance to thousands of natural disaster victims across the country since its founding in 2001.

APPLY FOR RRF ASSISTANCE

We are currently accepting applications for those who were affected by the winter storm in all counties in Tennessee. The assistance is intended for those whose primary residence was damaged by the storm; it does not cover power outages or food loss.

Applicants do NOT need to be REALTOR® members—the RRF assistance is available to all impacted victims.

Types of Assistance: Assistance is available to qualified applicants towards one of the following options:  1) Monthly mortgage expense for the primary residence that was damaged by the Winter Storm or; 2) Rental cost due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the Winter Storm or; 3) Hotel reimbursement due to displacement from the primary residence resulting from the Winter Storm. Relief assistance is limited to a maximum of $1,000 per household.

Please note: This assistance is for housing relief only pertaining to physical property damage. Homes and attached structures damaged by trees meet eligibility; unattached structures (unattached garages, sheds, barns, pavilions, etc.) would not qualify. Other expenses due to power outages such as food spoilage, damaged appliances, clothing, and/or equipment are not eligible for assistance. Additionally, second mortgages (home equity lines or loans), vehicle purchase, rental or repair, and or mileage are ineligible for reimbursement under this program.

The deadline to apply is Friday, April 3, 2026.
