Legal Action Program

Tennessee REALTORS® offers access to Legal Defense Funds. The Legal Action Committee may provide assistance to individual REALTORS® and/or Local REALTOR® Associations, provided their governing documents follow the policies of Tennessee REALTORS® and the National Association of REALTORS®. Support will only be considered if the issue could affect all, or a large number of, REALTORS® across Tennessee.

What the Committee Considers

When deciding whether to assist, the Legal Action Committee looks at factors such as: Whether the requesting party is facing, or may face, a lawsuit or administrative action by federal or state agencies. Whether there is current or pending litigation that could have a statewide impact. How the requesting party plans to handle the case. Any other factors the Committee believes are important. The Legal Action Fund may not be used to pay any judgment, damages, or fines. Any request for assistance shall be made in writing and shall be filed with the CEO.
