The Professional Standards Committee, shall be comprised of six Realtor or Realtor-Associate Members who shall serve two-year staggered terms. Each year the President shall appoint three Realtor or Realtor-Associate Members plus a Chair and the President-elect shall appoint a Vice Chair.
In addition to the Professional Standards Committee, when the need arises, the Professional Standards Committee Chair and the President may appoint a Hearing Panel with qualified experience to consider complaint(s) referred from a local Association that the local Association feels it cannot properly handle. The Panel shall be comprised of up to five Realtor or Realtor-Associate Members.
To serve Tennessee REALTORS®'s officers, directors, and staff in an advisory capacity on professional standards issues, instruction, policies, and practices, to be consulted on an as-needed basis; and to assist in the promotion of current regional and multi-Board agreements for professional standards enforcement, ensuring that every local association in Tennessee is party to a working agreement with at least one other local association.
This committee does not meet often and when it does, it's usually done on a "virtual meeting" basis - either by teleconference or web conference. However, physical meetings may be called from time to time by the Committee Chairman. Committee meetings are open to the Tennessee REALTORS® membership.
A vacancy is automatically created when a committee member misses two consecutive, duly called, meetings. Excused absences only include absence due to death in the family or personal illness.
