Update/Memo

We anticipate successful virtual Days on the Hill meetings this week. SB569/HB605, a Tennessee REALTORS® initiative, will allow real estate licensees to be paid through corporate entities. The bill will be considered by the Senate Commerce Committee on Tuesday, March 2, and the House Business and Utilities Subcommittee on Wednesday, March 3.

SB1376/HB523 will be considered by the Senate Commerce Committee and the House Insurance Subcommittee this coming week. HB407, which pertains to the selling of property prior to obtaining approval of final subdivision plat, will be heard in the House Local Government Committee and Senate State and Local Committee on Tuesday. HB128/SB450, which prohibits HOAs from banning signage that is intended to protect the health or safety of residents, will be heard in House Local Committee and Senate State and Local Committee on Tuesday. This legislation has been amended so the bill only prohibits HOAs from limiting signs to warn the public of health, safety or dangerous natural conditions associated with water on the property when the owner has consulted with authorities or the property contains a natural body of water.
