ATTN: Members who are enrolled in Humana plans:
As noted in an earlier post on Feb. 20, our Humana plan was set to renew on June 1, 2020. However, in light of rulings by the U.S. Dept. of Labor (DOL) and ongoing litigation, federal law required Humana to provide a 90-day notice of termination for the plan. Humana gave the notice and communicated that the plan will not be able to renew on June 1.
We still hope to find a solution before then. We have petitioned the DOL seeking to extend the plan, but the petition was denied in light of the ongoing litigation at the federal level. If anything changes, we will let you know, but at this point it would be advisable to consider other plan options beginning in June. We continue to fight to offer health insurance to our members. Our leadership and lobby team have explored every option, and we are working with the National Association of REALTORS® and the DOL on all possibilities.
As of June 1, those without insurance will be eligible to join other plans immediately because their insurance was terminated. Our partner, HUB, will provide enrollees with additional information and instructions.
